For the Saint Peter and Paul church in Ostend Norbert Schwontkowski made two paintings directly on the window glass in the porch, titled Im Gebiss der Zeit (In between time's teeth). The paintings are minimal and only show figurative objects on a scarcely elaborated background. By painting on glass the artist interacts with space and establishes a link with the existing stained-glass window, designed by Michel Martens in 1950-1955. Both glass paintings of Schwontkowski are a permanent reminder of his participation in Beaufort02 in 2006.
